Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Peter Frampton is set to release his first album of all-new rock songs in 16 years! The album, titled Carry The Light, will be available on May 15th. This exciting project was a family affair, co-written and produced by Frampton and his son, Julian Frampton.
Carry The Light features an impressive lineup of guest artists, including Sheryl Crow, H.E.R., Tom Morello, and Graham Nash, among others. Frampton shared that making this album was one of his most enjoyable experiences, especially working alongside his son. He believes it's just the beginning of their collaborations.
Fans can get a sneak peek with the new song Buried Treasure. This track features keyboardist Benmont Tench from Tom Petty and The HEartbreaskers and is a special tribute to the late Tom Petty. The lyrics are even made up entirely of Petty's song titles, honoring his radio show, Buried Treasure.
For Frampton, the album's title, Carry The Light, holds a deep meaning. He sees "light" as wisdom that should be shared and passed on. The songs on the album reflect his personal journey, including the challenges and important connections he's made in recent years. Engineer Chuck Ainlay, who worked on the album, even suggested it might be Peter's best work yet, praising the heartfelt songs and Frampton's matured voice.
The album will be available in various formats, including CD, vinyl, and digital options. This release follows a busy period for Frampton, who recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of his classic album Frampton Comes Alive! and was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame earlier this year. Carry The Light promises to be a meaningful addition to his legendary career.
